Morgan gold coins are a great way to own a piece of history while investing in physical precious metals. Morgan gold coins are composed of 90% gold and 10% silver. They weigh 26.73 grams. This equates to approximately .7734 troy ounces of gold and approximately .1 ounce of silver per coin. Uncirculated collectible coin.

The Morgan gold coin is one of the most important and historic coins in American history. Introduced in 1878, the Morgan gold coin represented the return of American gold coinage after a brief hiatus. The design for the coin was created by an Englishman named George T. Morgan, who came to the United States from the British Royal Mint to experiment with it. Morgan gold coins can now be purchased online.

The Morgan gold dollar debuted in 1878 and was designed by George T. Morgan. At the time of its introduction, the Morgan dollar represented a return to U.S. gold coin minting after it had ceased in 1873. The Bland-Allison Act of 1873 ended the U.S. Mint's free minting of gold and subsequently stopped gold coins altogether.

The obverse of the Morgan gold coin features a portrait of Lady Liberty to the left. Morgan's design of Lady Liberty is said to reflect the image of Anna Willess Williams, who sat with Morgan in numerous meetings to complete the portrait of Lady Liberty. The face includes the year of issue and the word "Liberty".

The reverse side of all Morgan gold coins features a bald eagle, also created by Morgan. The eagle resembles a heraldic eagle, but lacks the shield commonly used in that design. This design of the eagle includes a bird with outstretched wings, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.

In this product listing, we guarantee you a Morgan gold coin in Mint State 66 condition.

Your complete collection of Morgan gold coins will include every year of issue (from 1878 to 1904 and then the last in 1921), and at least one coin from each of the five U.S. Mints that produced them.

The coins in this complete collection are now almost all over 100 years old, and together weigh nearly 2 troy pounds of precious gold! ?

Each Morgan gold coin is presented in circulated condition with most of the major design details visible, and is protected in a clear archival case for easy and safe viewing of both sides.
